Dr. Krousel-Wood is an NIH-funded physician-scientist and currently leads clinical trials and clinical studies in cardiovascular and related diseases to identify sex differences in determinants of cardiovascular disease, medication adherence, and response to effective interventions. She is the PD/PI of Tulane’s NIH K12 BIRCWH Program and the co-director of the University of Alabama Center for Clinical and Translational Science Predoctoral Clinical/Translational Research Program (CCTS TL1) and the Tulane Institute for Physician Scientists (TIPS) Program, and contact PI for the Tulane R38 Stimulating Access to Research in Residency (StaRR) Program. She is also the Associate Director of the Tulane Center of Excellence in Sex-Based Precision Medicine (CESPM). Dr. Krousel-Wood oversees clinical and population-based research projects within COBRE-SPM and facilitates and ensures that interdisciplinary research collaborations, center-wide scientific mentoring and career development activities, and institutional resources are available to RPLs and PPLs.
