COBRE in Sex-Based Precision Medicine is pleased to congratulate our former Pilot Project Leader, Dr. Bruna Visniauskas, on receiving an American Heart Association Career Development Award. The award, totaling $231,000, will support her research for three years, beginning April 1, 2026. Her funded project, Immune-Adventitial Interactions in Vascular Circadian Rhythms, will investigate how immune cells and the vascular adventitia regulate circadian rhythms in the cardiovascular system, advancing our understanding of mechanisms that influence cardiovascular health and disease.
Dr. Visniauskas served as a COBRE-SPM Pilot Project Leader on her project, Impact of Sleep Restriction and Estrogen Loss in Cardiovascular Health, which examined how sleep disruption and estrogen loss affect blood pressure rhythms and vascular function in women. COBRE-SPM is proud to celebrate Dr. Visniauskas' continued success, as this award reflects both her scientific accomplishments and the program's commitment to supporting the next generation of research leaders in sex-based precision medicine.
